Ephesians 2:10

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Opportunities to Serve

"The Big EASTER Hunt"

is Saturday, March 24, so mark your calendars! This year's family-friendly event will be more than an egg hunt--it is an interactive experience of the life of Christ! Even if you cannot attend on the Big Day, we still need your special gifts and talents! To find out how you can participate, sign up sheets are at the church, or contact Stephanie at cucsrussell@mtco.com or telephone the church office: 309-367-4603.

Prayer will play an essential role in the success of this huge endeavor. Only God will be able to take our efforts and use them for His Kingdom. We are forming an e-mail prayer team especially for the Big Easter Hunt.  Contact Melody at rmsledge@mtco.com. If you would prefer to be contacted by telephone, call Melody: 309-367-4603.

You may notice baskets with eggs throughout the church. Each egg contains a specific prayer request for the Easter Hunt. Feel free to take one egg or more. We are depending on you to pray for these needs until the big day is here!

Lenten Meals

If you would like to help with set-up or clean-up for one of the meals, please contact Stephanie at cucsrusell@mtco.comthe office 309-367-4603. We appreciate your generosity!

Calling All Gentlemen

Guys, here’s an new ministry opportunity just for YOU! Stephanie is putting together a team of strong, willing men to serve as valets on Sunday mornings. Our mature members deserve the care of someone to greet them at the door and help them with their vehicles, especially when the weather is unpleasant. Do you hear God tapping on your shoulder? If you are interested in knowing more, please contact Stephanie Russell at coffee hour, by phone 309-367-4603 or by e-mail at cucsrussell@mtco.com. If you would appreciate being the recipient of this service, please talk with Stephanie. We want your ideas for how we can be the most helpful. Thank you!

Weekend Snackpac

provides a small sack with breakfast and lunch items for students who are part of the Free Lunch Program at Metamora Grade School. While the state-funded Free Lunch Program is a blessing to these children and their families, it is only available on school days. Too many children come to school hungry on a Monday morning because they do not get regular meals over the weekend. Weekend Snackpac is privately funded through community support. It is free of charge, voluntary, and requires no long-term commitment from students or parents/guardians. There are many ways to help:
-Financial sponsorship. The estimated cost per child is $12 each month
-Food contributions. We have a specific list of the food items needed – just put them in the collection box in the church narthex.
-Volunteer. We’ll be meeting on a monthly basis to assemble the packets.
To learn more or get involved, contact Judy Winkler via Stephanie 309-367-4603 or cucsrussell@mtco.com.

Food Pantry

Bring your donations of food staples and household goods to church and deposit them in the bins located in each foyer. We will make sure it gets to the Open Arms Community Center and Food Pantry. If you would prefer to donate cash, you can give through the church office, or log on to their website:www.openarmsmetamora.org. Thank you for your prayers and generous support for this vital service to our community.

Maintenance

In an effort to conserve funds and engage more people in the life of our congregation, the Church Council is inviting you to share in the care of our church facility. Some tasks require special skills; many do not. If you enjoy vacuuming and sweeping floors occassionally, we have the perfect job for you! Call Stephanie in the church office (309-367-4603). We’ll get you ‘plugged in’ for a turn. You will be blessed as you serve God and His people.
