The goal of Christian Union Church is to serve the Lord by helping his
people and spreading the Word locally and around the world.
Christ For India provides training, establishes churches, sends humanitarian aid, and educates India's future leadership. Rev. Rick Mortimer is the Director of Development for Christ For India. He seeks his own personal support in this position rather than being provided a salary. By supporting Rev. Mortimer, he is able to collect more and more funds to help spread Christ's work in India.
Hunger and hopelessness are everywhere. Much needed resources along with the Gospel are sent around the world from Food For Children. When Christian Union Church members undertook a mission trip to the Appalachians of West Virginia, it was through Heaven Sent Ministries.
For over 60 years, Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service has been serving the community to help those in need, the unemployed, the sick and disadvantaged. “Love in Working Clothes” is their motto. Throughout the year, Friendship House organizes events such as canned food drives, clothing collections, and the Adopt-A-Family program at Christmastime.
This Peoria based organization supports the husband and wife
music
ministry of Scott Kramer
and Rachel West-Kramer. Through an uplifting
presentation of contemporary praise and worship and inspirational
gospel music, this team spreads the Good News throughout the Midwest.
Heart House serves as a homeless shelter and safe house for victims of domestic violence in the Woodford County area. The shelter sustains a Christian environment and is not supported by tax dollars. This ministry is located in Eureka and is associated with Woodford County Heartline.
Intervarsity establishes and advances, at colleges and universities, witnessing communities of students and faculty who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord. Areas of focus include campus witness, discipleship, and worldwide missions.
Mission Update: Martin Smith, former chapter leader at Bradley University, has accepted the position of Area Director and will be supervising staff at multiple schools. Also, with the addition of a baby girl to his family, he needs to increase his mission-support level. Martin would be happy to have new donors partner with him, and he welcomes your prayers.
Formerly known as Metamora Food Pantry, this community organization distributes food and other necessities to those in need in the Metamora and Woodford County area.
Operation Snowball is a weekend event in that addresses issues affecting high school students. Funds given by Christian Union Church go towards paying the speakers for Operation Snowball events at Metamora Township High School.
The Peoria Rescue Mission, located in downtown Peoria, addresses the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of men who come to their door. After providing basic needs, the mission addresses the issue or issues that bought the person to them. The mission feeds the body and the spirit of homeless and disadvantaged men in Peoria. WBMJ Puerto Rico WIVV Lesser Antilles are radio stations sponsored by Calvary Evangelistic Inc. which spreads news of Jesus Christ through their programs. This mission also maintains a Bible correspondence school the Caribbean that provides lessons in both English and Spanish.
The DeHann family teaches “the word of God so as to lead people of all nations to personal faith and maturity in Christ.” RBC (Radio Bible Class) offers teaching resources to millions worldwide. One resource is Our Daily Bread which Christian Union Church distributes to our members as well as Snyder Village residents.
Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, the agency has shared God’s love through Jesus Christ. Christian Union Church participates in the annual “Operation Christmas Child” program, which is run by Samaritan’s Purse.

making a difference for God’s kingdom. Christian Union Church supports
Amanda King from
Mackinaw, Illinois, who is serving as a
missionary in
Ecuador.
This downtown Peoria mission focuses on spreading the news of Jesus Christ to those in need while providing them with love, food, clothing, and a place to stay. South Side Mission ministers in areas such as youth programs, temporary housing, counseling, and community outreach programs.
The Women’s Pregnancy Center exists for the purpose of showing the love of Christ in word and deed. Within a caring, comfortable atmosphere, the center desires to do everything possible to assist clients with information and support during crisis pregnancies.
This agency translates the Bible into as many languages as
possible in
order to bring people to Christ. Funds are specifically used to support
Guy and Lora McIntyre
whose ministry is in West Africa.
Youth for Christ utilizes teen evangelism as its ministry and also ministers to young mothers. Funds are designated locally to Eric Potter, the Director of Campus Life for Metamora High School students.
